What is Mesothelioma Or Asbestos Lung Cancer?.(asbestos lung mesothelioma)

asbestos lung mesothelioma,
It may seem something exotic, but mesothelioma is a form of rare cancer. It occurs at the outer surface of the lungs and is usually associated with exposure to asbestos. Therefore, it is often called cancer of the lung of asbestos. There have been some cases where it has been observed in people who had never been exposed to asbestos. It can also be attributed to irradiation and inhalation of certain fibrous silicates. Mesothelial cells are cells that surround all our bodies and this is where the mesothelioma cancer occurs. There are different types of cell types mesothlial: epitheliod, sacromatoid and biphasic. In cancer cases one or more of them may be present in different combinations.

Epitheliod cells are the cells of cancer most common of the three. They make up 70% of malignant mesothelioma cells. This type of cell has a cubic shaped appearance and as a group, they appear in a tubular arrangement and uniform. biphasic mesothelioma cells are less frequent, they make up 30% of mesothelioma cells and are a combination of two other types. biphasic cells often occur when the other two types of cells are already present in a tumor. The presence of sarcomatoid is rare in general. In some cases, mesothelioma may also occur from benign and non-malignant cells. It is usually very rare. Also this type of mesothelioma cancer can be treated surgically.

Symptoms range from shortness of breath, cough and chest pain. This happens because of fluid accumulated in the pleural cavity of the lungs. Other symptoms include fatigue, anemia, wheezing, or blood in the sputum or coughed out fluid. If there is an extreme case, the tumors may be present which can cause lung collapse. Or the cancer spread to other parts of the body. Signs and symptoms usually appear long after the actual exposure, about twenty to fifty years after exposure to asbestos.
