Lung Cancer - Symptoms & Treatments .(asbestos lung mesothelioma)

asbestos lung mesothelioma,
Cancer is a class of diseases characterized by control cell growth. Lung cancer occurs when uncontrolled cell growth that begins in one or both lungs. The lungs are two large spongy organs within the chest cavity. The air is blown into the trachea and down two tubes called bronchi, each going to a lung. Lung cancer is most often in adults aged 40-70 years who have smoked cigarettes at least 20 years.

More than 1,400 Victorians are diagnosed each year. Only 2% of people diagnosed with lung cancer that has spread to other parts of the body are alive five years after diagnosis, although survival rates are diagnosed at an early stage are higher, with approximately 49% survive five years or more.

There are different types of lung cancer, according to which cells are affected. The two main types are:

1. Small cell carcinoma
About 15 percent are small cell carcinomas. This type of cancer spreads early and shows few symptoms at first.

2. non-small cell carcinoma
These cancers affect the cells that line the main bronchi.

Some cancers are metastatic cancers elsewhere in the body. The lungs are a common site for metastases. Since lung cancer tends to spread or metastasize very early in his career, he is a very deadly cancer, and one of the most difficult cancers to treat. Although lung cancer can spread to any organ in the body.

The symptoms are varied depending on the location and extent of the tumor. Warning signs of lung cancer are not always present or easy to identify. symptoms of lung cancer can take years to appear, usually after the disease is advanced.

Below the following symptoms of lung cancer include:

1. Shoulder pain chest or back of the cough

2. A cough that does not go away or gets worse over time

3. Shortness of breath and swallowing

4. Recurring pneumonia or chest infections

5. Wheezing or hoarseness may signal blockage

6. Unexplained weight loss

Lung cancer is categorized into several stages according to its spread. This helps doctors decide on appropriate treatments. The treatments also depend on the type of cancer, age, health status and other personal characteristics. As there is usually no single treatment for cancer, patients often receive a combination of therapies and palliative care. More than one type of treatment may be prescribed.

Although diagnostic techniques provided important information extraction and the cancer cells look under a microscope is the only absolute way to diagnose lung cancer. This procedure is called a biopsy. If the biopsy confirms cancer of the lung, a pathologist to determine if it is non-small cell or small cell.

Small cell lung cancer has two stages which are:

1. In limited stage, the tumor is in one lung and nearby lymph nodes.

2. In the extensive phase, the tumor has infected the other lung and other organs of the body.

For lung cancer in non-small, these steps are marked I to IV. The lower numbers indicate the earlier stages, where the cancer has spread less:

1. Stage I is when the tumor is located in one lung and no lymph nodes.

2. Phase II is when the cancer has spread to lymph nodes surrounding the lungs infected.

3. Stage III is when the cancer has spread to lymph nodes surrounding the trachea, chest wall and diaphragm on the same side as the lung infection.

4. Stage IV is when the cancer has spread to lymph nodes on the lung or in the neck.

5. Phase IV is when the cancer has spread to the rest of the body and other parts of the lungs.

As with most cancers, the results will be better if the cancer is diagnosed at an early stage. However, some lung cancers are not diagnosed until they are well advanced. Treatment can then be limited to reduce symptoms. Treatment decisions depend on the SCLC or NSCLC. Treatment options include:

1. Chemotherapy is a cancer drugs are given to stop cancer cells from multiplying. This treatment is more effective for small cell carcinoma.

2. Surgery to remove the affected lung or an entire lung. This offers the best chance of cure if the cancer has not spread beyond the lungs.

3. Radiotherapy using X-rays to target and kill cancer cells. It can be used against certain lung cancers in early stage and the fight against cancer in lymph nodes from spreading further.

4. Targeted therapy is the use of small molecules, usually in tablet form that can be used after chemotherapy.

5. Clinical trials are participating in a clinical trial studying the safety and efficacy of new drugs may be offered.

Cancers that are closely related to certain behaviors are more easily avoided. If you are a current user of tobacco, quitting smoking can significantly reduce your chances of getting cancer. The most important thing you can do is quit. Many products such as nicotine gum, nicotine spray, nicotine inhaler has been used successfully to help people quit smoking.

Some common causes of lung cancer:

1. A person who smokes more than a pack of cigarettes per day has a 20-25 times greater risk than someone who never smoked.

2. Cigars and pipes increases the risk of lung cancer, but not as much as cigarettes.

3. Asbestos fibers are silicate fibers that can persist for a lifetime in lung tissue after exposure to asbestos. The work is a common source of exposure to asbestos fibers.

4. Radon is a chemically inert gas that is a natural decay product of natural uranium. With an estimated 12% of deaths attributable to radon.

5. Air pollution from vehicles, industry and power plants may increase the risk of developing lung cancer in individuals exposed

Screening techniques are designed to detect cancer at an earlier stage so that most treatment options are available. This cancer is detected at an advanced stage of the disease after they have spread and are more difficult to treat. Possible screening tests for lung cancer include analysis of sputum cells, examination of the bronchi and fiber optic testing low-dose spiral CT.

Cancer and cancer treatments can make a person feel too tired to exercise. However, studies show that physical activity can increase the energy levels of a person who has cancer.

Regular exercise improves the functioning of the immune system and can increase survival rates in some cases. Aim for five to 20 minutes of moderate exercise most days of the week. But do not hold without the knowledge of your doctor and support because inappropriate exercise may be harmful.

Cancer Survivor .(asbestos lung mesothelioma)

asbestos lung mesothelioma,
I am a survivor. I think I always knew I would. When the cancer diagnosis came, it was not a question of whether I would live or die, but I'd get through it with grace and dignity. I'm the kind of person who does not quit easily. I can be very determined and said that I have a very strong will. I'm not the kind of person to just accept what people tell me. I need to check things for myself. Unfortunately, this does cause me trouble sometimes. But in case of cancer, that attitude has served me well. I did not accept the diagnosis of the oncologist I would die within a year, if I did not follow his advice. I do not think so. I thought there must be something I could do. I tried other methods of healing. It took a lot of discipline to exercise, despite the facts before me. However, I have a very strong belief system. I have not listened to my friends who could not agree with what I had planned to do. I stayed the course. I'm good.

The dictionary defines a survivor as someone who lives in grief. It is not easy being a survivor. Anyone who watches the show "Survivor" would agree. It takes a lot of determination and motivation. To be a survivor is to continue despite difficulties or trauma. It is to persevere. You can not give up when things get tough or in my case, you get very few results.

It is essential that you have a reason to survive. I wanted to live. I chose to believe that I would live and not die. So I do not look back. I searched for anything and everything that would help my body heal. I read stories of people who survived. What I found was the peace and joy in the midst of the situation. My peace is based on the hope that I find other survivors and hope that is in the Word of God. I took great comfort from the Psalms. I repeated over and over verses like I'm going to bed and sleep and wake up, because the Lord sustains me and I will not die but live to declare the works of the Lord. I believe in the power of prayer and became a means of survival for me. It helped me to continue in the face of much opposition from family and friends.

I am a cancer survivor is not once but twice and if I learned something through my experiences, it is to go with what you believe in right and stick to it. I put my faith and trust in God and the power of my body to heal itself.

Mesothelioma Symptom Info .(asbestos lung mesotheliom)

asbestos lung mesothelioma,
The main cause of mesothelioma is the inhalation of asbestos or exposure to asbestos dust and fibers. This is the most serious form of cancer, and so far it has been no cure for this deadly disease. The nature of this form of cancer is the development of malignant cells in the wall of protection that covers most internal organs of the body. This protective coating is also called mesothelium.

The area most common in the body where it develops is the outer lining of the lungs and is called the pleura. Chest pain is a common symptom of mesothelioma, with more frequent difficulty of breath, chronic cough, fatigue, pneumonia, hoarseness, anemia, fluid covering the lungs and coughing up blood is the symptom most hard mesothelioma. Sometimes in very serious cases, the person may have many tumor masses who will make the lungs collapse. This will be tumor masses spread to other parts of the body such as the abdominal cavity. The symptoms of this disease be abdominal, weight loss, fluid in the abdomen and bowel function problems.

The diagnosis is often difficult due to the fact that most of the signs of symptoms of mesothelioma are similar to those of other conditions such as pneumonia, etc. A medical background check is usually done to see if the patient had no Exposure to asbestos in the past. Treatment of disease using conventional therapies have failed and patients usually have a duration of median survival of 6 to 12 months before presentation. Treatment of mesothelioma is extremely expensive and therefore many people file lawsuits to cover the costs of treatment.

Patients with mesothelioma are able to claim from the Government with the help of a lawyer. Victims can also sue the company they worked for not listening to their state of health of employees and do not worry about the benefits of company. If you work on a job or perhaps worked on a job where you had to handle materials consisting of asbestos and you have frequent problems with your chest, then chances are good that you may have mesothelioma.

What is Mesothelioma Or Asbestos Lung Cancer?.(asbestos lung mesothelioma)

asbestos lung mesothelioma,
It may seem something exotic, but mesothelioma is a form of rare cancer. It occurs at the outer surface of the lungs and is usually associated with exposure to asbestos. Therefore, it is often called cancer of the lung of asbestos. There have been some cases where it has been observed in people who had never been exposed to asbestos. It can also be attributed to irradiation and inhalation of certain fibrous silicates. Mesothelial cells are cells that surround all our bodies and this is where the mesothelioma cancer occurs. There are different types of cell types mesothlial: epitheliod, sacromatoid and biphasic. In cancer cases one or more of them may be present in different combinations.

Epitheliod cells are the cells of cancer most common of the three. They make up 70% of malignant mesothelioma cells. This type of cell has a cubic shaped appearance and as a group, they appear in a tubular arrangement and uniform. biphasic mesothelioma cells are less frequent, they make up 30% of mesothelioma cells and are a combination of two other types. biphasic cells often occur when the other two types of cells are already present in a tumor. The presence of sarcomatoid is rare in general. In some cases, mesothelioma may also occur from benign and non-malignant cells. It is usually very rare. Also this type of mesothelioma cancer can be treated surgically.

Symptoms range from shortness of breath, cough and chest pain. This happens because of fluid accumulated in the pleural cavity of the lungs. Other symptoms include fatigue, anemia, wheezing, or blood in the sputum or coughed out fluid. If there is an extreme case, the tumors may be present which can cause lung collapse. Or the cancer spread to other parts of the body. Signs and symptoms usually appear long after the actual exposure, about twenty to fifty years after exposure to asbestos.
